Tristan SouthallTristan Southall, Associate Consultant

fishery industry and aquaculture development planning - coastal resource management specialist - special talents in integrated planning, community based management, and participatory appraisal

Tristan is a former staff member of Nautilus, and now operates as an independent consultant from a base on the west coast of Scotland.

Tristan has been involved with a range of key planning projects in the management and evaluation of aquaculture, fisheries, marine industry and rural development projects, from both socio-economic and environmental perspectives. Key projects have included the Scottish Sustainable Marine Environnment Initiative (SSMEI), the development of fishery related sustainability indices, building fishery management capacity in Turkey, and evaluations of various European Commission fishery and aquaculture support programmes.

He holds qualifications in Marine Biology and Coastal Resource Management, and is widely travelled - in Europe, Africa, South America and South East Asia. He regularly works on MSC assessments and pre-assessments, as team leader and/or team member.
